Reload this page in case your computer has it cached as I over write pictures frequently (I change the days date to the current one whenever I edit the page or add new pictures). I take pictures of what we are doing and the plants we grow for my free monthly newsletter. Click on the picture and it may open a larger version with more detail.

HOME PLANT SALE LILACS ROSES NEWS GROW ORDERING CONTACT

Beyond the red door is my break room (with a couch, refrigerator and air conditioner), a mist propagation bench and work shops we can fabricate cold boxes in. This picture of Lilac flowers today allows me to over-write the picture fairly often to show customers at what stage the flowers are at today (click the picture for a larger image where you can see the date the picture was taken in the lower right hand corner).

lilacsbymailsmall.jpg, soldtosmall.jpg

If you see a plant with a "sold to" tag on the side and your name, contact me right away (the 2 pictures above should show all plants that might be available in 1 gallon pots and on the right a closer look at those with a "sold to" sticker on the side).

Once they flower in June I will either add a price tag to the side or a sold tag with the buyers name and email date on it. Contact me again if one of these varieties shown is one you had ordered so I can make up a sold tag.

lilacsbymailsmall.jpg, maylilacsinbacksmall.jpg

On the left I take pictures like this one of Lilacs in one gallon pots that we may sell mail-order (plants that flowered last year and were labeled are then divided in March and April while they are still dormant). Once they leaf out I will put a price tag on each giving priority to those who emailed me a list first (or stick a "Sold To" label showing I am negotiating a sale by phone). On the Right I take pictures like this one of Lilacs in the back of the house where I can sell them directly to those who drop in to pick up for $25. Once I have clearly labeled one of the spindlier ones I transplant it into a larger pot and cut it back to be sold for $30 or more. I will over-write this picture frequently so reload the page in case your computer has it cached.

maycoldframesmall.jpg, twoyearoldssmall.jpg

On Left the cold frame has two coldboxes inside and a sprinkler system overhead (click the link to see similar pictures taken all year). On right are two year old plants that once they have flowered and been identified will have a price sticker attached to the side of the pot.

mayfrontporchsmall.jpg, mayschneekopfsmall.jpg

The front porch has steps around it on which we can display plants for sale. On the right is a picture of the 'Schneekopf' that we will pot into a 45 gallon pot and use as a source of cuttings.

ownrootsuperbassmall.jpg, ownrootolgamezittssmall.jpg

We will pot these into one gallon pots, then over-write the pictures.

maybabyrosessmall.jpg, mayincomingsmall.jpg

On the left above are rooted cuttings that have returned from the greenhouse I will repot into one gallon pots but wont be for sale until their roots fill the pot (probably a couple years). On the right you can see boxes on the front porch delivered by UPS.

10356small.jpg, mayagnessmall.jpg

On the left is an unrecognizable flower on a 2 inch potted rose not for sale until we can identify it and until it grows into a 1 gallon pot. On the right is 'Agnes' Hybrid rugosa in a 45 gallon pot that we use as a source of cuttings.

maymongesmall.jpg, maymongeclosesmall.jpg

Hard to get the camera to see this color as there is lots of blue in it. After labeling them we will start to cut them back.

mayrugosaalbasmall.jpg, maytwoincherssmall.jpg

More pictures of rooted cuttings in 2 inch pots that we wont sell until they have rooted into a 1 gallon pot and been clearly identified from the flower.

mayweedmatsmall.jpg, cuttingsourcesmall.jpg

We spread out weed mat in the back yard on which we will sort the plants from which we will take cuttings from July on. On the right are roses that we take cuttings from in July and August (being watered on drip line).

ownroottuscanysmall.jpg, ownrootalbassmall.jpg

All these pictures of plants that maybe for sale are in my for sale page at

mayespaliertrainingsmall.jpg, ownrootcentifoliassmall.jpg

Training espalier in a neighbors yard. On right I potted up what may be a bunch of 'Red Moss' (might find out when it flowers).

ownrootfelicitessmall.jpg, ownrootmuskssmall.jpg

Felicite et Perpetuae flowering but not really old enough to sell. Hardy in climates warmer than zone 5 we may overwinter it in a slit trench. Gold finch is also zone 6.

ownrootrugosassmall.jpg, maycoldboxsmall.jpg

The cold box protects plants in the winter then acts as a table in summer.
