2013
I plan to show cuttings from different kinds of plants and how I treated them under a cloche, then if they rooted and in what percentage. At www.floweringshrubfarm.com we propagate classic Lilacs and old garden roses to sell during our retail plant sale May 15 to July 4 and by appointment.
Heel cuttings with multiple nodes and multiple wounds.
Tip cuttings where we have previously used a tourniquet around the stem until it swells.
Lots of rootone, a tiny bit or none at all.
1 part seed starter mixed with 1 part perlite and other mixes.
Quart pot filled with cutting compost, then use river sand (play sand) around the cutting to a width of an inch or so and water thoroughly. The cutting should root through the sand and into the cutting compost.
Other ideas.
